Is it weird that a company wants to hire me on contractual basis for couple of months because they are going through some restructuring?

I’ve heard that contractual workers have different laws and benefits that apply to them. This including any other relevant factors, should I or should I not accept the offer?

The contract workers for Amazon are treated like crap.

There is no guarantee of your post being permanent. If they give it in written then only consider the opportunity.

This is not that big a company and the work won’t be an extension. My guess is they are going through some acquisition so they might want to show some contractual workers. Any clue how it can pan out such a scenario?

Not sure brother, maybe the experience d folks may have better insight

But definitely it is a red flag so take it in writing, even a simple email confirmation with the hiring manager looped in should be enough.

Accept it and find alternate offers Keep strict boundaries and do not work beyond 8 hours daily Agree on OT payment T&Cs firstly before signing contract

I should still accept it? Are there any rules which contractual roles follow that employment is bounded for certain months even if say I find another job and therefore want to move out before the contract ends?

Does a contractual role look bad on resume?

If you don't have any other offers then go for it but otherwise I would ask to steer clear.. Lot of loopholes and "legitimate" work life balance abuse because contracts mean "paying by the hour"
