Trending @Infosys; Is it Necessary to learn telugu or tamil for onsite opportunity?
Please comment with your experience

Nah, you gotta take rebirth and have southern indian ethnicity 😂 and a manager who belongs to similar ethnicity and DC location aswell. But it's definitely to note a lot of these onsite people are " " speakers , not really sure if they were deserving or favoritism cause I have seen literally people with no skill but they sugarcoat much were sitting onshore while the person with skills getting their 🍑 handed offshore everyday. People will come and hate me now but ok I'm just saying what I noticed no hate for anyone

Would you ask the same question if your manager was from your home state? As policy you knowing your managers’s mother tongue is not the criteria for going on-site. Look at out C Suite currently and you can see what I mean. I have never had a manager who shared my mother tongue and trust me i had many. Whatever be their other short coming they never used this as a criteria to deny me something including on-site and promotions. Is this a universal statement across infosys - NO - the same way the statement you made is not universal. Individuals including managers are flawed so they may get drawn closer to people from their known group. But no manager in their right sense of mind would want to Antagonise the best resource in his team just because he doesn’t share the same language. Please understand the managers also needs high performers to sustain himself else he is leading to self destruction. But yes due to human flaws he can be more favourable to someone given there is not much to chose from between two people based on performance /skilset. Developing a bond with your manager beyond the language barrier is Soft which as much needed by reportee as needed by the manager.

I don't read that much big replies on Sundays... I don't have any problem with any languages... And I asked this question because I have seen some

No! :p
I’m telugu stuck with bunch of pune team members and I feel the same way that if I was from pune they would have sent me onsite. Favouritism is there in infy across all the levels and people are working here from 15-20 years, made it almost like their own company or run by their friends.
