Trending @Accenture; Is It Fair to Be Forced to Take Leave Due to RTO Policy?

I am currently on my probation period and have a limited number of leave days available. Due to personal reasons, I need to go home and will be unable to attend the office for one week.

When I requested an exception for that week, HR informed me that not being present in the office for an entire week would make me non-compliant with the Return to Office (RTO) policy. To remain compliant, I have been advised to apply for leave for the entire week.

However, I am fully capable of working from home during this period, and taking the entire week off will affect both my chargeability and my leave balance. If I exhaust my leaves now, I may not have any available in case of unforeseen needs in the future.

Due to the RTO policy, I am being compelled to take five days of leave even though I am willing and able to work remotely.

What to do in this situation?

You are being too honest here.. just take leave for one day as sick leave or something.. you are done.. when asked just say you had planned visit that day but due to illness couldn't come.. that's it

Nothing to do , those flexible days are gone 😕. Now you are either in office or you are on leave for that week

Honestly i dont need leaves, i can work from home, and one to highlight that, if i take whole week off my chargeability will decrease which will be again used against me during appraisal cycle 😐

I don't think your chargability will reduce if you take Earned /Sick/Casual leaves.

If it is something else then yes! It may reduce.

Why not take just one day leave that week? Policy says no need to visit office if leave applied on any day of the week.

Why wasting leaves ?.. if manager /HR asked just say I was on the way to office but because of hot summer i felt sick so went back to home and after taking rest for 1hr i started office work. (Safer side drop a mail to your manager on that day ) Be smart 🤓

I was also in the same situation and I had to take 1 full week leave. Not sure if policy says we are exempted from coming to office if even 1 day leave is taken.

I will check RTO FAQs once, lets see what they have written in there

Seriously 1 week leave??? Lol, never reach out to HR. If you are in a project no one will touch you. They won’t even point out one week of non compliance.
