Is it fair? Suggest what can be done

When I was in school one time I raised my hand that I didn't understand the problem on the board.. she asked one of my classmate who is topper whether he understood.. he said yes.. then she faced me and told he is able to understand but why you didn't? Are you mentally challenged?? People laughed at me and poked me about it after class.. from then I haven't raised my hand in class to ask doubt till my management classes..

To avoid rich and poor comparisons in schools they introduced uniforms.. but how is it fair to teach both kids who are good at grasping things and who is little bit slow grasper of certain things is fair??

I faced similar incident
I did but didn't stop me from raising

I have a similar story - in 11th standard I was told by my teacher in front of the entire class that I'm good for nothing and these toppers will the ones who'll do great things and I'll be a mere clerk or something to them. I stayed with me till date.

It has been 6-7 years and still that day is as vivid as it happened yesterday. The only good part is that today I'm more successful that all the toppers of the school combined.

I really want to go to that teacher now and just tell her where I am now and where her toppers are, but I just leave it now.

Rotting and vomiting in exams system is other worst thing happening in education system... people are not trying to understand.. instead just rotting and vomiting.. and even teachers are giving more marks for text book answers and lesser marks for people who go beyond text book answers.. sad thing is it's happening even in higher level of studies.. I saw only one person who used to give less marks for people who are answering text book answers and more marks for people who understood concepts and wrote in their own words.. and also only subject where everyone in my class actually listened and understood something..

All teachers are not like that. The tact is in understanding which Teachers discourage questioning like that and stop questioning only for those teachers. Asking questions inherently need courage, half of the times it may be a dumb question, but the other half, it may be great question, which may end up not only impressing the Teacher, getting you the information, but also helping everyone else too.

Till management school I was always the youngest one in the whole batch.. I was always topper in other subjects scoring 90+ except mathematics where I will be scoring 60-70.. to my bad luck she was my high school teacher and taught us for 7,8,9 classes.. and it happened in 8th.. as I was scoring well in other subject but not well in maths once my mother came to ask about it to my teacher.. from then she started taunting me finding reasons to make me feel ashamed..
It scarred me till my MBA.. but in MBA I slowly opened up.. started sharing things in class and got doubts clarified.. schooling is very important aspect in life as it is where people get molded as children.. being in such important position if you make a mark like that at that age how will people have courage.. no wonder a whole lot of people have low confidence levels, have stage fear etc..,

Yesterday was Teacher's day. These are the kinds of teachers that need to be called out to go fuck themselves.

Man.. she started targetted me never left and opportunity to showcase me as dull student as mother came to ask after seeing my low marks in maths compared to other subjects where I scored 90+ while in maths I used to score 60-70.. made my life hell for next two years in maths class and scarred me.. my mother saw me suffering and again she wanted to meet my teacher but I stopped her fearing that she might increase whatever she was doing.. it took 10 years to come out of it and ask again..

I wish i were there, such teachers will think tens times before entering class and wish to not see me even if i was topper. Problem is we do not see alternative to make them realise what they do. I have done it in past and believe teachers regret on their action as they never repeated the same with juniors.

Everyone feared her because if we go against her, then she will fail us and make us repeat the class again in finals.. she used to make fun of everyone but to me and my friend she used to give extra attention just because our mothers came to school to ask about our low marks in her class..

I hv always maintained a stand that teachers are absolute worst n why they ll be not as they ll be so underpaid here (or maybe its vice versa. They are underpaid cause of how they are). Hv faced similar incidents (one teacher made fun of my artwork 🤦🏻‍♀️ ) but actually cause of such incidents i do not let anyone cross red line n has made me v tough. But again, I do not believe that suffering leads to greatness.

It made such a big impact that she made fun of my story writing skills when she say my story book which I used to write. She took it and started reading it, then made fun saying that you think you will be a big writer by writing the story and then started taunting me and making fun of me. I stopped writing till 2021 where to cope up with stress I again started writing which by the way some of my friends got addicted to them and asked for more. Why are people trying to kill creativity in kids. And also as she was teaching mathematics so she always tries to take up our PT classes where we get to play. She jokes saying that as if you are all going to become Sachin and Dhoni.. 😕 she is only black dot otherwise in my happy childhood.. we complained to school principal but they supported. I wanted to change school but I like my other teachers like English, Hindi, Social and science who always encourages us to take up things.. actually my English teacher encouraged me to write and used to appreciate me.. thanks to her, my English was better when I went to engineering when compared to most of my peers which made them to elect me as class rep unanimously..

Teachers are also human and imperfect. There will inevitably be bad apples in every profession.

It's not fair, it's just how life is.
