Is it depression?
Hi all, I'm 25 M making around 62k a month(not much compared to many people here).
I'm always lost, little to no motivation to do anything. I always feel sad and lonely for no reason, no career progression. All day doing nothing but the same stupid work. My mind is filled with negative thoughts about future. Why I'm like this? I'm so lazy. Rejected a job that gives 89k in hand just because they asked me to come to office everyday. I am always afraid of change, can't do anything, always feel sad for no reason.
All my friends have reached great heights like govt jobs, working in a PBC meanwhile me sitting in my room doing nothing. I don't use any social media apps not even youtube still I feel so lost and unhappy iml.
What can I do about my life? How can I change into a better person? All these negative thoughts are killing me from inside

Hey buddy, M25 here. You are earning really well tbh, more than me in fact so don't feel down about it. I feel that we are in the same boat. I'm working with my father ( hence the low pay 😭) so here are a few things that can help you
- get up early and go for a walk /jog / run, I've been doing it for a past week and it has really helped me with my mental health
- get a weekend off and go for a road trip, keep your phone switched off and live in the moment. Let your thoughts wander off, it will help you clear your head.
- if you feel stuck, you can go for higher studies.
- spend time outside your room, work from a cafe or sit in a park in the evening.

Hey man, you're not alone in this.
First, respect for putting this out there—it’s not easy. What you’re feeling is a phase, not a definition of who you are. Many people, even those who seem successful, go through it. The good news? You’re aware, and that’s the first step toward change.
- You’re Not Lazy—You’re Stuck in a Loop
Your mind prefers comfort, which makes change feel scary. But growth only happens when you push past that fear. Start small:
Change one habit—Wake up 10 minutes earlier, take a walk, or journal one sentence a day.
Challenge negative thoughts—Replace “I’m lazy” with “I’m improving, one step at a time.”
- Leverage Tech & Mindfulness
Meditation (5 min/day): It clears mental clutter. Try Headspace or Insight Timer.
Podcasts & Audiobooks: If reading feels like a task, listen instead.
- Stop Comparing, Start Moving
Your friends' paths are not yours. Everyone has struggles, even those in high-paying jobs. The real question is: What do YOU want?
- Take One Step Today
Week 1: Go outside daily, even for 5 minutes.
Week 2: Explore a new skill or hobby.
Week 3: Apply to one job or start freelancing.
Week 4: Reconnect with one old friend or join a community.
Final Words
You’re not broken—you’re in a transition phase. Start small, stay consistent, and watch how things shift. You got this.

Thanks bro 🙏

Your main issue is not that you are not successful (which you are clearly) but with the fact that you are not as successful as others. Everyone is unique, keep putting right foot forward, be content and focus on non-materialistic things as well, you are earning well which is good enough for sustenance so now focus on learning new things, go closer to divine, play sports, build a hobby, take sunbath, travel and Enjoy the things around u
Koi club, sports vagera join kar le, office jaane se ye issue solve nahi hoga, abhi Ghar me baith ke feel karta hai office join kar lega to cab/auto me baith ke ye feel karega.

I am in the same situation too. Hope you will find a way soon

You are doing great. Nothing to worry about 25 yrs and 62k is great. My brother went through same depression he left his job. Wanted to start his ed tech career. He is still in depression and not able to do a job or fully concentrate on his ed tech stuff. He is quite intelligent but overthinking has taken over. Please don’t worry too much 62k in 25 yrs is more than just good. Be proud of your self and be confident.

Thanks for positivity bro. I hope your brother comes out of it, lots of positivity to your brother as well. I wish no one goes through this

I guess success will be very relative term if you see it as that
I guess "success should be measured based on your yesterday and your today" if anything else comes in consideration in measuring success it's never ending loop
I can relate with you though, doing this my whole life and never been happy for small achievements, now i feel i should have been happy when I did that, did this but never been happy because I always thought this is not that big to get happy about, I used to say to myself see this person achieved that without even much effort, that person was earning this much long before I started, so It has no end if we see like that.
For you I can say go with flow ,if you are afraid of change still keep applying and be in touch, just keep doing what you should and may be one day you come out of that fear, but you shouldn't Stop creating chances for you
And it's totally normal ,I am also afraid of changes,Best of Luck

Thank you

Find a life coach. Someone who can help you to be aware of your motivations, values, drivers so that you can appreciate and enjoy your life. It’s beautiful out there and I wouldn’t miss it a single day. Just get up and make an effort. You will be ok. Take care bud.

Thank you bro

Hey, develop a hobby, bro, speaking of my personal experience. Maybe try gyming or indoor exercises (some cortisol will help you be in good spirits), you can also try learning a language (personal choice giving just examples) or get into finance, maybe try writing articles about how to get out stress (learning while writting seems a good idea) or anything to keep you busy and help u feel good.
