Is it better to switch from analytics to data engineer/data science?

Considering the automation threat from AI analytics roles might get fewer and salaries are not that much high in analytics. What are your views on this? Do you think analytics will be the most impacted field because of AI?

If anyone had changed from analytics to de/ds, how difficult to change?

I was DA, changed to DE. Already I was decent with SQL, Python,Datawarehouse concepts. Transition hardly took 1 month to get used to tools.

Any resources on what exactly we need to study to transition to DE role?

For a start Data Warehouse Fundamentals and SQL. Rest of the skills depend on workshop (Azure/AWS/GCP). Google “data engineer roadmap 2024”, you would get good an idea.

Mine skillset as DA, SQL+Python+Tableau. As a DE added ADF+Databricks majorly.
