I bought an iPhone 8 in 2019 for 35k from Flipkart, apart from battery life decreasing, I don’t have any issues with it.

Got it replaced when I had some issues with the speaker.

It’s prolly good for one more year, but I’m switching to 13/14 when the prices come down.

The apple store guy said I’ll prolly get 8-9k if I trade-in for my 8.

My android friends seem to switching every 2 years or so.

I prefer using iphones, but to each his own 💁🏼‍♂️

I have been using one plus 6t for 4+ yrs now.. issues facing ; battery is not long, performance slowed down, 5g not available ..rest is almost good.. so Android phones are also sturdy . Max life of Android phone is 5yrs ..is it more for iphones? Anyway who will want to use same phone for more than 5 yrs!?

The experience still remains seamless, very less glitches or slowing down compared to Android.

Got software updates till 16.6 and holding resale too.

Dunno about the flagships like Galaxy S these days but I personally wouldn’t want to spend that much on an Android.

My friends using Oneplus are having that green line on the display.

But the ones using Pixel are sorta happy.

However I’m optimistic about Nothing as a brand, would like to see how their phones are going to evolve.

How would you compare ios v Android product wise?

iphone are easy to use minimal headaches, it's pleasurable experience my mom loves her iphone, only regular users can appreciate it's finesse.

Samsung in general is more quirky. more stuff inside, sometimes the software breaks but its different, unique.

Shouldn't compare other out of price phones with iphone it's irrelevant.

It's called milking the brand value. Making high sales for an inferior product where your loyal base doesn't know what competition offers.

It's the Lic policy of investments

So product wise Android is better than ios?

To most people. Both OS have come a long way.

Most Apple users are ex-Android KitKat or before users who are still under the same impression. Also, it was never about the bugs or the OS. Android lags in budget because their hardware/processor is cheaper.

For apples to apples :) comparison, compare the experience from equivalent Samsung to the iPhone.

There is a huge aspect of brand value attached to iPhones. But it does have a few areas where it is untouchable.

My Pixel 6 was absolutely humbled by a base iPhone 13 when it came to video. Both the video quality and audio quality were leaps better than my pixel.

And the integration between connected Apple devices is really good.

Speaking of cameras, Apple recommends not to take iphones if you are going to ride on bumpy roads. Mounting it to the handlebar, not at all recommended.

Too much price for good camera tbh. Everything else you'll get in Android

Not sure if it’s “better” but it is objectively overpriced and this is coming from an iPhone user since 2016.
The market share of iPhones is less than other competitors say Samsung or Oneplus.. but still Apple makes the most profit in the smartphone market. That clearly indicates that their profit margins are much higher than the competitors hence they are overpriced.

It’s a matter of choice and subjectivity. What is better and valuable for me may not be for some other person.

I think Apple has got a very loyal user base and the ease of migration + changing to Android isn’t for some users.

For example, I have an Apple Watch, iPad, MacBook & iPhone. Migrating to an android phone isn’t really on my list of todos.

So whether the price is high or not, it’s really just subjective. Compare whatever features you want, at the end of the day you will pick the brand/product you are most comfortable with.

Preferences are subjective. Used both Android and iPhones and they both are good. One outshines the other in some areas and vice versa.

iPhone / iOS has much better privacy and the OS is much more reliable.
