Is hiring freeze? And companies are just showing jobs on their portal for sake of showing?

Same as title. I got to know from some internal members that hiring is freeze for most of the roles at Microsoft, Salesforce. Also I'm getting 0 response even after applying to 50+companies with referral. Could you please comment if your company is hiring for 2+YOE Software engineer role.
