Is gratuity calculated during notice period? Also is timeframe 5 years or 4 years 10 months for becoming eligible? Have an offer letter

Yep, gratuity is calculated during notice period.
The rule is 5 years, but if you've spent more than 4 years 6 months it'll be rounded off to 5 making you eligible after 4 years 6 months.

Is there any government guidelines around it? I couldn’t find it anywhere on net?

@Upstartwala - In the icici calculator, gratuity is only being calculated when years >=5, also the same is mentioned in the clc.gov.in document payment of gratuity act that it has to be atleast 5 years. Not sure then would it round off anything?
