Is getting a pet more rewarding, or is it just added responsibility?

Rewarding as you get companionship with unbiased love but it is a big responsibility too as you are dealing with a life. You would need to give the pet time, you would need to ensure that the pet is treated well, you would end up skipping many commitments to be with the pet.

Being said, if you have a family that is helping you with it then its a wonderful thing but if its a sole member dealing with a pet then its very tiring.

Both. Get one only if you are willing for a commitment to them. We have to take huge responsibility for their health and everything. But they are cute too ☺️ We become parents to them.
