Is being a Linux sys admin still relevant?

Hello community , Are there any good paying jobs available on the market for a Linux System Administrator? I am seeing people around me who are in various technologies land up with a good deal but I am finding it difficult to get a interview call? If this job is still relevant then what is needed to skill up?
