Is APM still the best way to break in?

Hey Folks

I have been trying to break in product via APM roles but finding it hard to make it happen.

I have a marketing background so that adds to the complexity

I am wondering if I should keep trying via APM or learn to code so Frontend or design for 1-2 years and break in via internal switch.
