IPF rating query
Hi everyone,
Today my manager gave me IPF rating, since it's my first year, that is i joined on March 05, 2025.
They told me there won't be band, but they have given IPF rating with 4.13.
I dont know if this is a good rating or not.
FYI - I have the best appreciation in my entire team, client appreciated me on several meetings, and even told me she will call me on-site. My manager was also informed of this.
So based on that I also told my manager I'm expecting the best rating, and he said No one in TCS gets 5 out of 5 rating.
And said 4.13 is actually an amazing rating.
Sp can someone help me understand is no one getting 5/5, and I'm C2 btw. And is 4.13 really good?.
Because I have a lot of scope of negotiations.
Please provide your thoughts and suggestions.

Practically,Rating and Band don't have any relation. It is all dependent on your manager, unit HR irrespective of how much effort you have throughout the year. They will give top bands to whom they think are important for them
4.13 will be round off to 4...and anything equal to 4 and above is good rating...as it is anniversary rating u will not get any band and salary hike due to this rating
Can you check with the manager , if they will be giving any hike for this rating?
For the first year
In 2026 you won't be getting a hike as it is a final appraisal rating , the actual band and hike you will get if you stay till next financial year
4-4.25 - B band
It's good but it doesn't matter as there won't be any band and salary hike
It's pretty good, 4.5 & above best, It will be rounded off to 5
