Investment starting 5k

Hi,

I am thinking about taking small step of investment towards something that will give good return, i could think about only gold or silver, but provided sky rocketing gold rate investment interms of gms is waste and also if i focus on money it's just 11 months would come up to 55k only, is there anyway i could make it right? Genuine suggestions pls.Also i could start with only 5k atleast for this year considering my salary and my personal issues. Expecting good help, thanks in advance.
