Investment Banking Sector selection

I'm a tier 1 engg grad, 8 mo.s of experience in tech. I want to transition to an IB role with international client exposure. As of now, I got a prospect from a boutique firm that operates only in India. Is this going to hinder my chances of landing an international IB role in the future? Should I go for this or try more for an international IB? Also, should I be picky about the sector? Please help and upvote so that this reaches to experienced IB professionals. Thanks!
