Investment Banking Intern | Stucked on how to start

Hi everyone,

Posting it again as did not get much outreach on Mumbai.

I'm an engineering undergraduate who has just finished my second year, and I have 1.5 months of vacation ahead. I've long been interested in investment banking and feel that now is the time to start taking concrete steps. However, I'm uncertain about where and how to begin. I've purchased the "Breaking into Wall Street" and "Wall Street Prep" courses. Could someone with experience in this field advise me on how to maximize the benefits of these courses? I understand that investment banking is highly competitive and that no course or certification can guarantee an internship at a Bulge Bracket firm. My expectations are realistic; my immediate goal is to secure an internship at a small/mid-market or boutique firm during the winter break to gain some experience. From there, I hope to eventually pivot to other firms.

My university isn't very well-known, and I don't have strong connections in the industry, which has been discouraging. The job market in India, much like elsewhere, doesn't have a well-developed culture for non-target schools. Though I have experience of cold emailing, using Apollo etc as used it a lot during my college clubs.

Any insights on what and how to learn, whether these courses are necessary for an intern-level position, attaching the images of the courses I have and can any of you suggest to me in what order I begin and is all even required just to get an intern that too in a boutique or mid-market bank?

Thank you.

Edit: My 12 isn't that strong and I'm a GEM hence not considering the CAT route.

CFA is the only route i guess.

Hey, thanks for reading and answering, but I have heard strong mandates from people against CFA, according to my research it is much more focused on AM and portfolio management roles.

Hardly, there's an emphasis on details of Transactions, precedent, comparables etc which are used in IB.
