Investment advice

I am a Data Scientist with monthly in hand of around 2.5 L, i need options for investment in mutual funds , FD, RD and any other stable instruments..what percentage of my salary should go in investment.. The goal is to build a balanced portfolio with long term cash cows..any suggestions and best practices will be helpful.
