Investment advice-Beginner

HI Everyone, I am 25, wanted to start investing I know it's late but it's better to start now than never. Since I am a beginner I went thru a couple of forums here and there and different forums suggest different funds and I have no idea where to invest, totally confused.

Here are the details: Monthly planned amount: 5000(I know it's a small amount but planning to increase the investment amount in future based on how it goes now) Purpose: want to build 2 different funds one is an emergency fund where there's no lock-in and I can withdraw when times of emergency and another is for retirement purposes in the long run.

Please do suggest some gud funds which meets my purpose ...I will highly appreciate ur help!
