Interviews and career path
I was recently rejected in the Problem Solving round at FAANG. I froze during the interview, stuttered while answering a fairly straightforward question, and unfortunately spiraled from there.
I have over 10 years of experience, but I still find myself struggling in interviews especially when it comes to structuring my thoughts under pressure. I’m currently in the process of scaling to a compensation range of 40–50 LPA and way to 80–90 LPA, and I’m finding this transition quite challenging.
For context, I started my career with a high-paying job, then moved into entrepreneurship. After running my own venture for six years, I returned to the job market—and had to start over at the same salary where I began years ago, around 25 LPA. It’s been a tough journey, but I’ve worked my way back up steadily.
I’m really keen to learn from someone who has successfully navigated a similar path. How did you develop leadership skills, structure your thinking, and grow into more strategic roles?
