Interviewer POV

Had an interview today that perfectly highlighted a hiring truth:

You can train for skills.
You cannot train for attitude.

Gave a straightforward LLD problem. Instead of identifying the pattern and structuring the solution, the conversation turned into deflection, over-explanation, and eventually resistance to feedback.

Even after nudges, the candidate chose to argue rather than rethink.

The irony?
Not knowing the answer was not the problem.

Refusing to learn in the moment was.

🚩 Biggest red flag in interviews: When ego kicks in before understanding the problem.

As interviewers, we’re not expecting perfection — just clarity, humility, and adaptability.

"As interviewers, were not expecting perfection"

What a liar, I had my amazon interviews recently and he wanted optimal solutions to 1 med and 1 hard LC problems in 40 minutes.
