If I had money to throw, I would probably do something like this because high CGPA either means they were dedicated enough to study or smart enough to cheat.
Plus, the survivor bias will probably kick in when they see their peers struggle through interviews. This might make them perform better because they’ll believe “luck” got them the job.
At the end of the day, if you can’t perform, you will be PIP’d. No metric of evaluation today guarantees a good hire.
