I am working in a support project since 4 months and seeing no growth. I have got stream training in Java but they hardlocked me to a support project. Now I want to the criteria to switch internally to a different project. Please guide

Isn't there any criteria that we need to spend at least 1 year in a project to switch to different project? Correct me if I am wrong
Yes there is a criteria as per my knowledge it's 18 to 22 months some people say it is 1year But when I approached HR for my roll off I was told there is 22months criteria.
It depends on your manager. I've been in a support project for the past 2 years, even my stream was also Java. I was also a merit holder in Java techgenics. I asked my manager after 6 months for a project rolloff. But they denied. They promised to do so after some months. However this topic got closed there itself. I later asked after 3 months. But due to some release and deployment, again they ignored and made me work. Later again exactly working for 1 year I asked and my manager was so rude that he was like you need to ask these things when I had joined the project itself. Later my lead informed me that they don't want to roll me off since I'm doing very well here. I couldn't speak up much and now I'm trying to switch, but the job market is down. It's like I'm stuck here.
I suggest you to speak with your manager as soon as possible and keep asking every 2 to 3 days so that he feels that pressure.

Yes there is a criteria of 18 months, but trust me they won't change post 18 months since you've already got experience here in support. Also if you get a rolloff and try for a development project, most projects reject saying you don't have hands-on experience in development. So later on again you end up in another support project.

Same here and going through the same phase they are postponing my roll off from last 4months.. I am fed up of this Wasted 2years already with no hike no promotion,no recognition,no appreciation.
