Internal Drives for Bench people (LOSS of pay if not attended)

Those who are on bench are forced to attend internal drives recently. RMGs are making everyone sit till the evening. Sometimes the skillset isn't even matching but they're not taking attendance and raising loss of pay for that day. Do you guys know anything about it or how often it will keep happening in the future?
