Interesting Projects SDEs are working on, in India ?

Hey everyone,

Today I googled to read about what interesting projects are currently being worked on by SDEs in big Tech companies (say Google India).

All of the results were kind of "perks of working in XYX", "A day in life of...", "Salary reveal..."

I'm wondering, are the innovative projects, like we see currently AI related, are being worked on by SDEs in the USA ?

Can any senior engineer give me an idea about this ? Some cool project they worked on in the company in the past ? -- This question is not limited to Google, I just took it as an example.

This question came to my mind while I was thinking about deciding which company I should prepare for to switch next.

Sorry, if this is a dumb question -- a freshie with ~ 1 YOE :)

Not a senior engineer, My team recently completed transition from monolith to micro service architecture. I worked on writing a load balancer. Included writing algorithms, managing data across nodes etc. Enjoyed it.

What were the limitations in already available opensource load balancer? Like nginx

nginx is there at the top layer, This load balancer is part of proxy server just above the application layer, here we have custom parameter to calculate the load. Also there was a simpler LB available in the monolith architecture, but because of micro-service multiple new requirements came in.

In my team(department) , we are trying to build inhouse tools for the services that are costing a bomb. Work is interesting though.

From what I am seeing across my company, most of the new products are old technologies that are rebranded.

The only trend I see is either acquire and sell , or rebrand(build a wrapper) and seel

Not a project I'm being paid to work on but it's my baby. Here it goes.

Basically it's a raid system for Google drives.
Well all free Google accounts are restricted to 15gb storage. I am creating a desktop application that will combine the storage of multiple google drives and will present it to you as a single volume. It will also have multiple raid configurations that you can select while creating a volume and browse through it using the electron js application.

I'm curious to know if Google as a name on the resume (or for future prospects) is still as big as it was maybe 5-8 years ago?
