Instead of hiring Liars take individuals who are talented . Hiring PM from different domain will only enhance your team.

Unpopular opinion: There are so many talented folks out there who want to make a career shift and become PMs at some point. And guess what? The current PMs are the biggest gatekeepers who discourage these folks into not becoming one by constantly creating a narrative that PM is the most difficult and thankless job ever. Fair enough. Then why are you still one? :)

Thanks for the comment and sharing ur opinion . Guess you have taken me wrong, my point is having PM exp in one field doesn't stop him from venturing into another field. From past three days missed out on opportunity just because I don't have specific sector exp. Example E n U asked me for BFSI exp. Second Deloitte asked me IT experience.

I mean trying out PMs of different domain won't harm the company instead enhance the team and get outside exp i.e of different field.

Another aspect is PM these days are adding in things to their profile which they have not even done. We have few examples in our firm itself person has switched from automotive domain and isn't even aware of basic things. Really doubt that people are simply lying and getting jobs. Whereas talented folks are been set aside or rejected for meer sector exp.
