Instagram reels vs salaried
I have been seeing Instagram reels about easy ways to make money /entrepreneurship. It makes me feel FOMO despite being in a MNC as a software developer. There are so many things being told in reels. Also seeing content creators being paid so much Any thoughts on this ??

Even on Instagram is actually quite difficult to scale beyond 40-50k rupees monthly income. One of my batchmates runs a few anon motivational and memes pages, with less than 100k followers, gets around βΉ1500-2000 per paid reel/ telegram plugin/shout out, currently most of his content is copy paste low intellectual stuff targeted to relate to unproductive frustrated folks.
He started as a hobby in college with posting crypto currency related stuff/ finance quotes etc then switched to more comedy/ gyaanchod type content.
One of most recent reel was
Quote "usko life me kuch bada karna tha par wo khud choti reh gai" with dank upbeat music, dark animated background.
Most liked comment there was
"fir tu usko boldeta bas pakad le bada apne aap ho jaega"
@tbk What is this ultra meme effort ππππ

Youβll be surprised to know how much astrologers earn in India. Or popular Tarot Readers abroad. Everything sellable has a time and place. Real businesses will always diversify to reduce risk with time, just look at PayTM. Anyway, do what u can and rest leave it upto time
Look, I don't know about finance and career content creators, but I attended a conference where Nidhi Katiyar was present and she said that she started her makeup brand Cuffs and Lashes, simply because content creation didn't pay as much and even years into her creation she was juggling two jobs

Leave Instagram and after few days you will feel happy , content and motivated in life.
You can make insanely amount of money from Social media and content creation. But need to be amongst top 0.001 % to make money. The odds are same as getting into any top college in India or getting into any high paying job or running a successful startup.
There are 8cr content creators in india with less than 8k actually earning good money from brands deals. Micro influencers have started making money but they make literally INR100-500 per post or reel.
My wife runs a D2C brand and top influencers charge a bomb. Zakir khan and Bhuvan bam charge anywhere between 30lacs per post and long term brand deals can go into crores. Tanmay Bhatt charges 15-20 lacs per post.
All big finfluencers (akshat, warikoo, sharan), make 5-10lacs for one brand deal and also affiliate income.
Bharti Singh, the comedian, quoted 6 lacs for 1 reel to my wife.
Making money out of content creation is difficult and it is same like running freelancing business. But yes there is money. Just like techies were in demand post covid and 5 yrs exp guys were demanding 80lacs, Content creators are in demand now. They need to make most of it till the time they are flavour of the season. It is all about playing the business cycles. Same happens with stock market too.
When is Jio launching its own version of TikTok?
Seems apt, now that there are everywhere incl OTT, next thing to capture would be social media.
Influencers minting money
Have come across many YT influencers cum freelancers cum podcasters - barely out of college but claiming to earn in crores. Not sure how true that is but if so, I do feel inferior though I am at a high paying job. Their constant show off...
