Infosys JL5 (Consultant) HR discussion query.

So, I was called for an in-person interview by Infosys and in Hr round they gave me a 30% increase on my Current CTC. I asked if it could be extended. They said that I can think and someone from their team will reach out to me next week as I expected a 50% increment.

I said ok and left. Now my friends are saying I should have agreed to that offer and now we are not sure if they will be reaching out or not. Can any HR person help me with this? I am open to settle at 40%.
