Infosys HR Round

Hi..

I am an Oracle Consultant (Principal Consultant) working in Functional domain and have got 4.5 years of experience and my current CTC is 14.5lpa.

Recently, I appeared for Infosys interview and have got selected and have my HR round scheduled. Probably they would be asking my expectations and other things.

I request for your insight as in how much shall I ask for as hike and also what is it generally like for Infosys HR round?

Thanks in advance 🙂

Infosys is one of the worst companies to join right now, so my first suggestion is to take minimum hike and get offer letter and look for other companies leveraging the infosys offer letter.

But in case u want to join infosys, quick tip don't ask them certain % hike, that's a trap. For eg. U asked I need 60% hike because it's industry standards for my role etc etc, they will come back with 40% and tell Infosys has budget restrictions for this role blah blah.

Hence u gotta give them options and they have to choose, this is what I did:

I'm willing to consider the average salary for this role given at X company, but given that X company is growing for the past year, and new projects are coming in, I see there's lot of scope of my contribution, and since I will be putting in my best effort, I'm willing to accept any of the offers which you select from these:

  1. 60% hike with your choice of compensation structure
  2. 50% hike with all fixed
  3. 40% hike with app fixed and fully remote work from home.

This worked for me because in TCS they can't have given me 3rd option, and 2nd option is difficult as they have to include performance bonus, hence hr accepted 1st option.

Final thought, remember HR is trying to understand your x% hike to offer u x/2%, but once u give them choice, they gotta come back with one of them, so it works.

Also, recently when there was a walk In interview with TCS, I was selected after clearing 2 rounds and all that HR had a question for me was whether there is a buyout policy in Oracle.. I said yes, I may try bcoz anyway 30 days is the notice period but the HR didn't turned back.. I mean if this has to be the project based hiring then why do they really call the candidate!

Raised a Concern of TCS since I saw you work for them 🙂

That's a great insight. Good piece of advice. All I am targeting currently is to get a offer letter in hand, so that I can try and leverage the same in my current organization. Though it worked for none, but would like to try my luck here 🙂
