Indigo suggesting alternative flight. Anyone opted for this before?

Pros and cons of the voucher, is it worth it?

Yeah, if you don’t need to reach urgently, you can go for it. The thing is flights are always 5% Overbooked, since they know 5-10% of the folks will not show up/ will show up late. So they ask people to voluntarily give up their seats to avoid penalty. If more than 100% folks show up, then anyone who’s denied a seat can get a compensation of 2X the amount of flight or 20000 plus a bunch of other hastles like insurance cliams . Hence they ask 4-5 seats voluntarily giveup.

If you’re not in any rush, indigo volunteer flight change can be a good option. Most of the time, log flight book karte hai but due to certain situations they don’t show up. And thus if you avail this option aap penalty avoid kar sakte ho. And other people who need to be on the flight can easily get seats. I think it's a win-win.

Is Indigo volunteer flight change really happening? I thought it was all fluke. But, whatever it is, I don't see a strong point about this. The reason being flight tickets are any which way expensive and without a solid reason nobody wishes to cancel them.
