
Increment Rant Time
I have just received an increment letter for completing my first year at TCS based on the rating and it's not even 5%, despite getting a rating greater than 4 and being the hardest working among the peers, taking up roles from development to testing, heck, even BA, so much so that the manager assigns tasks to me instead of other slightly more experienced team members and even complimented me for being ahead of them in terms of learning. Meanwhile some of the other colleagues who joined in the same batch, despite not doing anything productive received a higher increment, maybe because they're in a different team that doesn't really care about feedback and that distributes 5s randomly or they've been licking managers ass for the last one year, 9 hours a day, 5 days a week, RTO baby. This makes me feel bad and it is one thing to hear "Life is unfair" and other to experience it firsthand. This shit sucks and I hope I won't have to remain part of this rat race for long.

It's same everywhere.. rather than focusing on rewards focus on your journey and learning curve.Document all your work so that you can discuss it with your manager or HR later on for negotiation.

Just same happened to me too. I got the same 4 rating despite working hard and others who joined along with me did nothing but attended all the hr events and enjoyed their time.. They had project training for most of the time and still got 5s. Life's unfair. I feel you
