Trending @Cognizant; Increament Query

Greetings fellow cognizant folks!

I'll keep this short. Just need an honest opinion. Preferably from someone on Senior Associate, Manager or higher level.

So I'm looking to get an appraisal/promotion in my current role. Recently completed my 3rd year in cognizant. Associate level. I have a considerable dependency on me in my project.

Since Aug appraisals are coming up, would it be fair to try and have a conversation with my project manager for the promotion to senior associate? I have kinda good relations with my project manager and tight bond with my home manager as well.

P.S: I've had a rough year trying while trying to switch. While some offers were cancelled in the last minute or in the majority instances I failed the interviews. So that's Outta window for sometime.

Appreciate any input on this.
