Doesn't Infosys deduct income tax from salary? I see a higher amount in my income tax portal but the tax amount in form16 is much lower. Am I missing something? Pls guide this ignorant fool 🥲

It does. If your tax liability is showing more than what infy deducted that would imply either you joined Infosys mid year and did not disclose your prior income to infosys or you have additional income from interest/dividends/ rents/ capital gains which wa not declared to infy hence tax didn’t get deducted or you are in old tax regime and you declared tax saving investments but actually didn’t give proofs
