Can I ask my manager to release me from project during the starting KT sessions if the work does not align with my expectations and no motivation is there to do it and it is also not from my stream training?

Yes you can,but prior speaking with the manager just intimate some info to your lead also ..
Do asap, as you are already not interested in that project or else you may regret for years later...

The manager said I will need approval from lead and that ASEs don't have right to get roll off and managers don't need to ask them about hardlock as well. And that I should not ask for roll off since I will be facing problems during bench period.
