Wow. Early retirement after 30 years! Freshers take note.
Means at approx. 53 years.
At 53 years it would be so much fun to leave all you have known work-wise and look for a job just like a fresher, with the label of a 'retired guy'. It's fantastic. Imagine how awe inspiring it must be to society to see a guy rich enough at 53 to choose retirement. Every college passout would look for such a career.

Not sure what's the criteria for giving severance allowance. Many of my friends and Seniors have been asked to resign, and they have done so. But they have got severance allowance as well. None in my circle has not received the severance allowance. There is a calculation formula for severance allowance which they have got. (2/3 of monthly salary)*Number of years of service in TCS plus 3 months of salary.
For then that amount came out good. Even though it may not be the thing that they wanted to be out of company as of now, but if this is happening for sure with good severance,.... Then let it be.
Some exceptions were there.. some people got the Medical for life time like a retired person from TCS with minimal premium payment...some got only cash component as final deal.
Not a good thing happening for sure. But if et al ..anyone getting good severance... Then accept it and moved on to further search another one.. You will have buffer of around 1 year with severance allowance... To sustain and search.

I am also not confident, when the list may have my number..but if it is happening, and i don't have any control or say in it.. Then atleast getting severance allowance is relief.

I will face that to on Monday, HR has called me. I have been removed from my project and brought to bench. Nothing matters now to them
