One of my colleagues got rating 4 and he is in bench for 1 month. They put him in PIP and gace tasks without much of a details and asked to complete taks soon.
Without any proper inputs and even when asked for help no help was provided. At the manager gave a negative and had to resign with a month notice period.
You have to complete the tasks given by your manager then he will clear.
Dont resgin without a job in hand tell the hr they can save you

Try to get into a project ASAP.. Once you get into new project the new manager can save you from this situation.
Pip means you are target. Unless you are really good and have project dependency your pip will not be positive
Everything depends on your manager. I have seen in few cases in my BU after sending someone to pip, they revoked it with 2 week and in other cases same condition as mentioned by you. So , bottomline it all depends on your manager
