If one looses their IT job what really he/she can do to earn money?

With so much fear of job loss all the time, I regret choosing IT sometimes. Now I really need some ideas of what to do so that I can make atleast 1-1.5 lakhs per month and may be live in my hometown ( tier 2 city ) without thinking of money all the time. Please tell me options that is doable as I really need to calmdown my mind. I am hating this no job security era and it gives me anxiety.

I am planning to shift to my hometown in tier 2 city since i can not afford living in Bangalore with no job. In my city I can not open a momo stall or tea stall. Here people know each other and I am not interested in opening a thela. I want to do something respectful in society. I know i am sounding opinionated but this is my reality. I come from a family where everyone is doing very good in their life and opening a stall will not be possible for me. Please suggest something genuine.

there are so many comments saying to open a food stall. Everybody has a neighbor who is minting money thru his Paani puri stall.

If it was so easy to make money, why are people still working 9-5?

here are things they dont tell you -

Food business has the highest failure rate. The success totally depends on location. The place you put the business should have enough foot fall, not the car/bike traffic but walking crowds. That limits the number of places to a handful in every locality. all such places are filled. For street foods , fighting for the spot becomes a head ache. If you rent a place, your fixed cost will go up and one bad week, will ruin you.

If selling paani puri would make millionaires, IT would be facing labour shortage.

Am starting to feel, beauty parlor is the dream entrepreneurship for women. Food stall is for men.

I agree no business is easy and not sure we after working in IT doing a sitting job in AC can really do all this. And moreover the business you start will earn the money equal to what we are earning now in IT is a big question. Alot of business get closed and invested amount becomes a loss.. but we should be positive there are some business which really make profits but for sure its not cakewalk to setup that business.

@NeedyAgenda1 the same anxiety, the same fear, the same thoughts always surrounded. Even I keep planning of doing something but could not execute the right way. I can't quit because surrounded with loans and no additional income, no savings. Kind of doomed!!

If you really are serious about it, tea / momo/f&b stalls are actually a great way to reach that income level within 5 years if you're smart and do it right
