Now ..I see this "beti padhao, beti bachao " thing has been a great success that girls are considered unreachable & approachable as if an alien..
Now...feminists will give example of how women were & are oppressed..n may defend here...I do agree that men are evil too ...but it doesn't really justify how n what women think about marriage..!!
10 lpa girls marrying 50 lpa boys. 30 lpa girls marrying 75 lpa boys.. The amount of compition is so huge.. Living peacefully alone ,may be right option nowadays...

Because indian parents have a responsibility to make sure their daughter gets married, which is mostly arranged.
If the parent part is eliminated, then what we have is natural selection, a girl similar to disha pathani in looks would not be interested in marriage because it limits everything for her, and a very small subset would of course marry, but it's only a small subset; compared to a pumpkin like bharti who no guy would want to marry.
And for the average ones, it's still a transaction that costs them leaving their home/name/identity etc to gain what?
