Ideal time to remain Jobless
Hi Folks, If one resigns without an offer, and worst case if he didnt get any offer during the 3 months Notice period tenure so in that case what is the ideal time for Jobless, so the career gap should not widen ex : 6 months of gap is enough i guess any opinion on this

Here's what I found from my job search last year:
- "Gap" conditions exists only in service based companies like TCS, Capgemini, Accenture, Wipro, Cognizant, etc. for TCS when I was joining it was clearly mentioned gap < 1 year, while my friend has confirmed gap > 6 months isn't good and there will be issues.
But no need to worry, there are product based companies and even startups which doesnt think about gap

@HairyStream5 , @Sure50 - Good questions, here's both of your answers:
- It doesn't matter what the reason for gap is, for recruiter/HR, it's just a criteria to filter people. Assume u r intheir shoes and u suddenly got 600 resumes for 2 posts, how do you filter them? After ATS scan, they see other conditions like GAP, frequency of job switch, etc.
- 1 year gap is actually too much honestly, so DO NOT mention it as a 1 year gap. I assume no matter how free u were u might have taken some certificate, some course or some personal learning of some sort right? Add that here, even if you took a certification course/internship for 3 months, show in resume like 1 year.
