IBM Manager Round Interview Questions - Help!

Managerial round at IBM was chill but structured. Focus was on people management, delivery ownership, and cross team coordination. No coding or hardcore tech, but you need to show maturity in decision making.

Mine was very resume focused. They picked one of my past projects and asked me to walk through how I handled resourcing issues and conflicts. Also got asked about stakeholder management and how I prioritize tasks when everything’s urgent.

Had mine last month. expect a lot of situational stuff. Like a time when you had to handle a difficult team or about how do you handle escalations. It wasn’t super technical, but they definitely want to know how you manage pressure and teams.

A friend who recently interviewed with IBM mentioned that the manager asked a lot of situational questions. For example, he was asked to describe a time when he had to deal with a difficult client or a challenging team member.

Someone in my office who has interviewed with IBM mentioned that the manager will also want to know about your technical skills and your understanding of the company's products and services. He recommended doing your research and being prepared to answer technical questions.

Be prepared to discuss your leadership skills.

Expect behavioral questions. Be prepared to talk about your past experiences and how you handled challenging situations. The managers mostly just wanna see if you're normal, so speak in an average tone and you will be great. Be humble while answering

They will likely ask about your experience managing teams and projects, as well as your problem-solving abilities. Also mention how to mentor and motivate the juniors under you to extract maximum out of their work
