How thorough is the IBM background verification process in India? What all do they check? Worried about a minor discrepancy from years ago.
Been there, done that. IBM's background check involved verifying my last 5 years of employment, academic records, and a police verification. Took around a month.
They dig deep into your past employment, education, and even criminal records. Had a friend who had a small inconsistency in job titles between his resume and actual experience. it delayed his onboarding by a couple of weeks.
They're pretty thorough. contacted my previous employers, checked educational credentials, and even looked into my address history. Took about 2-3 weeks. If you've got a minor discrepancy from years back, best to be upfront with HR. They're more understanding when you're honest.
