IB vs portfolio risk analyst

I was trying to change my current job and managed to get an offer from a boutique IB in Mumbai, but the hike is not great, 14 Fixed + 2 variable+ deal bonus, after I resigned, my current company wants to retain me and have given me an offer to join as a portfolio risk analyst in Bangalore, I am currently based here. I currently work as a VC analyst and wanted to try IB, so I was applying to IB roles. I have been an economics student, I am kind of interested to work in risk also. I am already 30 and have experimented quite a bit with my career, a bit unsure of what shall I do. The thought of moving to Mumbai from Bangalore is a bit overwhelming, considering Mumbai is just so expensive. Any Tips, suggestions on how do I make a decision?

The boutique IB role in Mumbai gives you the IB experience you wanted, but with a modest hike and high cost of living. Deal bonuses could be lucrative long-term if you're willing to grind.

The portfolio risk analyst role in Bangalore offers stability, aligns with your economics background, and avoids relocation stress. Risk roles also have strong growth in finance.

Key questions: Is IB passion worth the Mumbai move and hustle? Does risk analysis interest you enough for long-term growth? At 30, do you prefer stability or another career experiment?
