I was taken into project saying its developer position and then they changed domain to testing, how can I get release from project

I am in the same situation. Most of them are telling me not to work. And some are telling me that I should have had the confirmation (about developer role) in written form. I had the mail (about the role), but that didnt help me. Nor did staying idle helped me get out of the role.

I really have 0 clue of how to get out of my project. Only solution I can see - get out of TCS

Its really pissfull, they have taken my 3 rounds of interview purely based on java and once i get into project they started giving testing and support work and when I asked my manager he is saying I have to prove my development skills and then they will give adhoc tasks of development and it will not reflect on boards , and even they ask not to tell the client that working on adhoc tasks other than the assigned tasks. I am.pissed off of all this things
