I want to switch my job.

I have been wanting to switch my job for the past year, and as a procrastinator it's a very daunting task. I am living in fear, that I am being too comfortable here, which I don't believe is entirely true. I am from the North, and I have been in Chennai for the past 2 years, it's good but I don't like my company's work culture, I am handling design for 7 platforms as of now, and I love how I am getting to do all of that, but obviously everything works very slowly, and since I am not exactly in the product team, I don't even know I am doing anything impactful.

With the amount of work I am doing right now, it's very hard to pay attention to my portfolio. I am feeling stuck, and I should be grateful like others that are here but tbh I am not.

At this point of time, I want a job that's remote, pays well, and I can do some impactful work.

I know writing it all here, won't help me, but still, I thought I would just pour everything out.

Personally I just don't like how things work out here. I am a part of the service team, my job is to design for Android+iOS and Windows apps and desktop devices for one of their web products. There's a lot of team politics, one blog that was supposed to come last year, it is still in work. There's no documentation of things, features or anything. On top of that, they want someone who can fit in everything from web flows into mobile screen.
I am not sure how it works in other company, but there is no official promotion, except one that happens when you have been in the company for 8 years. So growth does feel stagnant. People are good, you will meet a lot of talented people but the work part, I personally feel things could have been better if there was a proper system in place.

Stop whining and start acting. You're not a tree, if you don't like where you are, move. No one owes you a dream job.

Honestly, switching jobs on platforms like Naukri or Indeed has become really frustrating — you keep applying, uploading resumes, writing cover letters, and most of the time, either the jobs are outdated, or you get ghosted. As someone who went through this process too many times, I was genuinely looking for something simpler. That’s when I came across this new platform —www.newrole.in It's built specifically for working IT professionals And the experience is refreshingly different. No job posts. No resumes. You just sign up, share your real work experience (like projects, skills, etc.), and verified companies reach out directly. It feels way more professional and saves a lot of time and mental energy. If you're working and just exploring better roles (without constantly applying), you might want to check it out sometime. It’s really simple to register. Hope this helps someone here who’s tired of the same old job portals.
