Investors are well aware that delaying hike will surely demotivate employees, resulting in more sick leaves, less efforts and hence lesser profits! This is not the era of Traditional Management practices. Good Governance in the corporate plays key role in valuation of the company.

It goes both ways tbh, people may also be worried about layoffs and could work harder to just keep their jobs because of market instability. No one wants to be highlighted at this point.
