Yes you can request... But some time they won't allow but when you receive call from the projects you can mention like I'm looking to work on this location is this project is available at that location... Then I am ready to join the project... But one more thing choose project wisely.

No this is not necessary. Mosy of my friends last year came to their home town from kolkata location itself. Either through project approved transfer or using medical reasons for their family. Some even asked release from the project and came to their hometown location and started reporting to rmg there.

Rmg won't do anything. Only your project manager will be able to transfer you. After the interview ask if it is possible. If they don't transfer you, maybe after a few months of joining u can try again. Give a proper reason maybe medical if possible or family related or u'r getting married (this one works though ðŸ˜)whatever.
