I Panic and Scare
Guys I would really appreciate genuine suggestions and ways to deal with this. So my nature is such that I preempt things and act accordingly. What this leads to is that when confronted with a huge responsibility or a thing out of my sphere of control, one which if it went wrong I would have no idea what to do I become so stressful that I am not able to work towards that thing. For ex: when my first partner asked me to meet for the first time, it was unknown area to me and too stressful and a panicking situation. Another one is now, I have been asked to close a project which is usually done by a guy two positions senior to me, has a lot of things to do and which could go wrong. I am panicking like crazy and taking to much stress which in turn make me do things which are not required. Also my basic day to day chores get affected like eating and sleeping. I thought I had it figured out but now suddenly it has hit me again and I have no idea how to react or how to suppress this and get on with my work. So I anticipate what COULD go wrong which makes me anxious, which makes things go wrong and the loop continues. Any suggestions would help. TIA

If I was in your place I would either draft out a plan on how to close it or check with my manager on the same and ask for some help. This would result in low chances of failure, rest is trying to be calm

Thanks for the reply, yea I can do that, but this is mot just a work problem more like a general life thing
Sit with that feeling and start asking yourself a set of questions, such as:
"Which part of my body is being affected?" (And no, "whole body" isn't the answer; be specific, like chest, left hand, or brain, etc.)
"How long does the extreme phase of this feeling last?" (Start counting: 1, 2, 3... 10, 11; you get the idea.)
Other things you can do include focusing on your breath or eating something YOU COOKED. Talk to someone or something. Remember, you are going to be fine; you are not going into that tunnel in the car.

Will try this, thanks ☺️
Yo..I feel the same way as soon as a task arrives, the chest becomes heavy and I start thinking about unnecessary details and how to do it..when to do it..should I prioritize this or that task etc etc..Happens in everyday life too, I know the pain.
What helps is first up heavy breathing..next list down every task that needs to be done...start with the first task..complete it...take a break (you may just recall if you missed something in this break time)
Now you'll realize that the task wasn't tough.. so proceed with the second task
i.e breakdown your task and strike off one after another as you go along.
