I just want to work in VLSI. Why is that so hard?

Man, I don’t get it.

2023, I graduated with a B.Tech in ECE. The job market was trash thanks to the recession. Still, I managed to get a job—but not in core electronics. Not in VLSI. Not even close to what I wanted.

So yeah, I left it.

Now I’m at BITS, doing my master’s in Microelectronics, diving into VLSI design—finally doing what I actually care about. Logic design, RTL, verification, layout, the whole deal. I’ve been working my ass off here.

But internships? Just vanish into thin air. Companies ghost you. No replies. Some don’t even post openings anymore.

And now there’s a freakin’ trade war again. USA-China tension messing up the global market. Companies pulling back. Internships getting cancelled.

Like bro… am I cursed to always graduate into an economic disaster?? I’m graduating in 2026, and I’m scared. I’m seriously scared I’ll end up again with no job in the field I love.

I just want one VLSI internship. Just one shot at proving I’m worth something in this field.

If anyone knows anyone who’s hiring or even thinking about hiring—help a guy out. I’ll do whatever it takes.

This isn’t me being picky. This is me trying to not lose the thing I actually love doing.
