Swipe hours could be tracked using the old access cards by itself. The newer ones are more secure and also it's a global card. Meaning, it will work at any global Accenture facility.

Those who have access card with less than 7 digit, they have to upgrade their cards. Those who have access card with 7 digit are already upgraded card.

They are tracking hours as it is, new cards are not required for that. These cards are just more secure. Think of it as upgrading to a new phone. It has the same functionality with few added features.

My base location is Kolkata. I was only told that it will be an additional Sez card for Candor premises. There was no mention of taking back and disabling the older ones.
