I heard that promotion from C2 to C3A sucks as it reduces salary for many employees. Is it true? Can someone pls explain how it is possible?

There is a section called Quarterly Variable Pay/Performance bonus which you get after each quarter. Up to the C2 level, the company pays 100% QVA. Once you are C3A and above, this % gets deducted based on various factors which you can't control. From last 1 year, we haven't got 100% QVA So yea it is true that your salary will be reduced. Considering 15% increase in your salary after promotion and then each quarter let's say 50% deducted then you can calculate how much you will get and 15% increase is divided across all the section like basic salary, QVA, hra but major part will be QVA

OMG! 😂 This is funny. Yeah, currently, I get 100% QVA as I am C2. This year I was wondering to approach my manager for promotion as I am completing 7 years in my role now. By the way, any idea how much the salary will be decreased? Like by how many Ks? Range it if possible.

It’s a big scam ask for raise in salary first then promotion

It will not be less than your current salary but if you get a 15% hike, it doesn't mean that the actual salary will be increased by 15%. There will be qva deduction... I have heard for c3a atleast 50% of qva is being deducted in my account
