I have received an offer from TCS with a 7-day deadline to accept it, but I also have a better offer where the background verification (BGV) is still in progress. I'm wondering if I should accept the TCS offer as a backup, and if I accept it via email but later decide to reject it, could this lead to any legal consequences? Additionally, the manager and HR from TCS are following up with me frequently.

Don’t join TCS. You will regret later. Shittiest company ever.

No legal consequences. And what are you afraid of in BGV?

Not afraid. I had cleared everything in Accenture earlier this year and on reaching bgv they just stopped responding, later I saw on their portal and it said that the position was filled. Do not want to reject and then face the same issues here

Then accept and later reject. You are not missing anything if TCS blacklists you for whatever time.
It’s TCS. It’s shut.

If you accept and reject the offer , they will blacklist you from further roles for the next 3 years . If you prefer the other role, you can reject this as most of the time background verifications are just for namesake unless you have provided any wrong details

Phone number change email id change , no one cares about , you declined or
Bulati hay magar jane ka nahi
You can accept it. And can tell TCS that you got a better offer. They will not likely match it and you will go scott free.
In any case, no legal consequences for you. Been there, done that.

Bhai mat join kar

No consequences. Personal experience with one of friends I referred. He rejected the offer and then got interviewed after 9 months and got offer
